We’re looking for an outstanding Education Officer/Teaching Assistant to join our team at Cygnet Bury Forestwood School. This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, term time only (5 days per week, 8am – 4pm). The role is split: 3 days as an Education Officer and 2 days as a Teaching Assistant, supporting the young people in our setting. The successful applicant will carry responsibility for our exams, incurring an additional payment of £1500 per annum as a TLR.

About Forestwood School
Forestwood School is the specialist provider of education for all young people admitted to Cygnet Bury Forestwood. Learning happens in a dedicated school unit with an ICT suite, library and quiet room. Teaching is delivered by a team of subject specialists and experienced classroom support assistants.
Your Day-to-Day
* Induct new students and support students during transitions
* Work with the multidisciplinary team to promote and ensure students’ wellbeing
* Liaise with external agencies and the local community where appropriate
* Support colleagues with information and advice
* Provide moral guidance to students and act as a role model and mentor
* Develop reintegration plans and support students’ reintegration after discharge
You are…
* Experienced in working with children and young people
* Knowledgeable about health and safety, safeguarding and the education system
* An excellent people person with both adults and children
* A good written and verbal communicator and an effective team player
* Committed to high standards and continuous improvement
* Organised and able to prioritise work and meet deadlines
* Holder of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths at grade C or above
