Field Service Engineer Location: Chesterfield, England, United Kingdom, S42 5UY Company: Chart Industries The Role Exciting opportunity for a Field Service Engineer! As a Field Service Engineer, you will have the distinguished responsibility for the Howden rotating equipment machinery. More particularly, you will engage in mechanical repair, service, installation and commissioning of rotating plant across the customer sites of Howden in the UK primarily and overseas occasionally. This position gives the great opportunity to travel across the UK with a focus on the Midland area (Liverpool, Burmingham, and Manchester) with all traveling expenses paid and a traveling allowance as bonus. You will focus on turbomachinery (compressors and steam turbines), fans and associated equipment, and the role is mechanically biased but electrical experience would be advantageous. What will you do? - Ensure adherence to company environmental, health and safety standards in compliance with company policies to ensure a safe working environment and the minimization of environmental impact - Traveling on-land with our company car from Monday to Thursday and weekends when necessary (depending on business needs) - Preparation of Health and Safety risk assessments prior to and during on-site assignments, strictly following Howden and customer Health and Safety policies - End-to-end responsibility on the routine service, repair, installation and commissioning of rotating equipment in compliance with company standards and requirements - Communicate with clients to control on-site activities and provide technical support pertinent to installation, commissioning and service/repair - Prepare and issue all documentation relative to processing of on-site activities ? daily reports, visit reports, site communications, time-sheets and commissioning documents - Carry out on site analysis of machinery and provide condition reports with the aim of driving additional business through service upgrades/ spare parts requirements etc - Interact and respond to all aspects of the business, supporting SHE, efficiency, delivery and quality improvements. - Frequent travel within the UK and worldwide What do you bring? - IOSH Managing Safely - Recognised engineering apprenticeship - HNC in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience gained through working in as a multi skilled service engineer in a rotating machinery industry - Significant experience of working in a mechanical environment/ industrial sites - Waste Water, PCOG and Power Industry preferred - Time Management - Good communication skills - Ability to self-manage in remote locations Chart is an equal opportunity employer The Company intention in respect of recruitment, selection and promotion is to appoint the most suitable candidate for each job regardless of that person's race, religious beliefs, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, age or disability.
