Is seeking proactive and highly organised Logistics Operator.
You will join an integral part of the business, which is responsible for the Customs clearance and logistics solutions of all cargoes arriving on our client’s premises and other Port facilities across the UK.
Duties include:
1. Ensure manifests are completed for all cargoes arriving by sea or road in accordance with HMRC legislations/regulations and port inventory requirements.
2. To ascertain the correct classification of goods.
3. Calculate the correct tariffs in accordance with UK and EU legislations/regulations.
4. To continuously seek for the best clearance procedure/tariff for our customers.
5. To complete all necessary duty worksheets; databases; certificates; online forms; and applications necessary
6. Maintain good communication with all stakeholders regarding clearances or potential problems relating to the clearance; distribution; inspection of cargoes.
Personal requirements:
7. Previous Import/Export experience, knowledge of customs formalities
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must
9. Computer literacy and the use of Outlook, Excel, & Word.
10. Able to work independently under pressure and without supervision essential
Hours: Monday to Friday -3 weeks of 8-5pm and 1 week of 10-7pm. Plus 1 weekend in 4 - Saturday 8-5 and Sunday 8-12 paid as overtime.
Salary: £26,208 - £27,157 plus overtime circa £2,500/£2,700 on top!
