Our client is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their finance team in Cobham. The successful candidate will provide essential support in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions and assisting with day-to-day accounting activities. Key Responsibilities
* Process and record invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims accurately
* Assist with accounts payable and receivable, including timely payment processing and reconciliation
* Maintain and update financial records and spreadsheets
* Support month-end and year-end accounting activities, including bank reconciliations
* Liaise with suppliers and clients regarding payment queries
* Assist with preparation of VAT returns and other statutory reporting
* Support the finance team with ad hoc administrative tasks as required
* Help ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience in an accounts assistant or similar finance role is preferred
* Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
* Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
* Good organisational and time management skills
* Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Discretion and integrity when handling confidential financial information
