The Role
The Junior Music Producer will work under the Music Director to oversee the creation, production, and delivery of music across multiple projects. This role requires a balance of creative and technical expertise, ensuring high-quality music production while managing workflows, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring talent.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee the production of music albums and tracks from inception to final mastering.
2. Write and compose original songs including lyrics, arrangements and orchestrations.
3. Provide structured feedback to composers, engineers, and lyricists at various production stages.
4. Ensure final mixes and masters meet creative and technical quality standards.
5. Work closely with the Music Director to implement music strategies.
6. Maintain clear communication with production, post-production, legal, and publishing teams.
7. Coordinate with Music Operations to establish project timelines, deadlines, and workflows.
8. Utilize Digital Audio Workstations (, Logic) to edit, arrange, and compose.
9. Engineer and coach recording sessions when necessary.
10. Edit, tune, and comp vocal tracks, and record vocal guides as needed.
11. Develop musical briefs, review and refine lyrics and compositions.
12. Assist Music Operations in metadata tagging and deliverable submissions.
13. Lead team meetings and provide updates on project progress.
14. Direct vocal recording sessions and assess new talent, including singers and composers.
15. Train new hires and manage studio interns, composers or creative assistants.
16. Shape the musical identity of content and source/manage freelancers.
17. Ensure documentation, including music bibles and project tracking tools, is regularly updated.Qualifications
18. Proven experience in music production, composition, and recording.
19. Strong proficiency in DAWs (, Logic) and audio editing tools.
20. Experience in managing production schedules and coordinating cross-functional teams.
21. Ability to lead recording sessions and provide creative direction to artists and composers.
22. Excellent communication and project management skills.
23. Experience with metadata tagging, licensing, and music operations is a plus.
