Overview

Role: Supplier Quality Engineer at Artemis Technologies.

The Operations function (Manufacturing, Vessel Operations, Supply Chain, Quality and Facilities) is responsible for ensuring on-time, on-cost, and on-specification delivery of products including eFoiler systems and high-speed vessels. The Quality Department ensures that quality is designed-in, supplier capabilities are robust, and that the appropriate validation and verification are planned and implemented to enable right-first-time delivery of Artemis Technologies’ products that fulfil customer and regulatory requirements.


Role

The Supplier Quality Engineer will have responsibility for working with the wider organisation to agree, define and implement the highest quality standards possible within Artemis Technologies. Part of the role will be to take ownership to monitor the supplier process/capability of components for vessels and eFoiler systems.


Key Responsibilities

* Implement quality systems and procedures to enable governance and control over supplier quality, advanced quality, manufacturing quality and approvals.
* Communicate customer requirements clearly to internal teams and externally to suppliers to protect customer satisfaction.
* Develop and implement inspection methods, quality sign-off instructions, quality standards, FMEA’s, process sheets and inspection checklists for new and existing components.
* Complete inspections, audits and testing to ATL Quality Standards, recording results and identifying, diagnosing and categorising defects or issues.
* Respond to non-conforming material complaints and ensure that SCARs are in place.
* Analyse data and trends to identify issues during manufacturing and communicate with relevant suppliers and internal departments to eliminate defects at the source.
* Regularly communicate with suppliers to enhance their supplier performance.
* Liaise with customers to resolve issues or complaints, ensuring timely root-cause analysis as well as implementing and monitoring containment, corrective and preventive actions.
* Update and review quality documentation to carry forwards lessons learnt into new products and customers.
* Undertake ISO9001:2015 internal, supplier and process audits to the ATL audit schedule for the Quality programme including 3rd party and external audits.
* Ensure that all measuring and monitoring equipment is calibrated as per the ATL’s requirements.
* Support the Continuous Improvement philosophy within the team and throughout the company via 8D reviews, CAPA plans and 5S and Kaizen events.
* Support the engineering and manufacturing teams through advanced quality planning and manufacturing quality capabilities.
* Support the training of apprentices, technicians and engineers in quality philosophies, tools, and techniques especially in relation to high-value composite and electric drivetrain technologies.
* Promote health and safety awareness within the Quality function.
* Support the implementation of IT systems, software and digital tools where appropriate.
* Comply with Artemis Technologies policies and procedures.
* Contribute to shaping a culture that reflects Artemis Values and enables Artemis to achieve its objectives.
* Build good working relationships across Artemis Technologies’ operations.


Required

* Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent NVQ or appropriate experience and in-work training.
* Demonstrable experience of working in quality function within a manufacturing environment.
* Proven experience of implementing ISO 9001.


Preferred

* Experience implementing supplier quality systems in a high-complexity, low-volume business.
* Experience in the application of quality tools for complex composite components.
* Knowledge about maritime industry quality standards and requirements.
