We are seeking an experienced, accomplished and highly motivated Practice Manager to lead our friendly, high performing andwell-respected GP Practice. The role will lead the Practice through a greatlychanging environment in the NHS with a patient list size of appox. 8,000 patients.
The role will provide leadership and management skills to enable thepractice to meet its agreed aims and objectives within a profitable,efficient, safe, and effective working environment.
We invite applicants with practice and business management experiencewho will fulfil the essential criteria on the person specification.
The role is 37 hours per week; the candidate willbe required to work those hours necessary for the proper performance of theirduties.
Although we are primarily looking for someone with substantialexperience in a GP setting (at least 5 years) we will consider applicants withless than this, but with evidence of advanced skills in the above or experiencein other senior management settings.

Job responsibilities

As well as this you are expected to:
* Meet contractual and legal requirements within financial limitations ofthe Practice
* maintain excellent achievement in QOF, Enhanced Services and Localschemes
* ensure claims are submitted promptly and correctly
* monitor and evaluate performance of the Practice team againstobjectives; identify and manage change
* overall accountability for recruitment and retention of staff as well astheir ongoing development, performance management and welfare
* manage procurement and premises
* managing the financial elements of thePractice and maximising financial performance
* ensure that the financial performance ofthe Practice is sufficient to deliver the funding that allows us to sustain anddevelop services
* play a significant role in strategicdevelopment in devising and implementing the plans that will allow the practiceto grow and thrive in the constantly changing arena of primary care
* oversee the risk management process inthe Practice. This will include compliance with CQC and health and safetystandards as well as all statutory and regulatory obligations.
* maintain and advance our IT systems and have knowledge of Emis
* liaise with our Primary Care Network, ICB, community services, suppliersand other external stakeholders.
* attend PCN, ICB and other stakeholder meetings and feedback the salientpoints
* maintain compliance with IT security and IG
* maintain the Practices website

Person Specification
Experience
* experience of working at senior management level
* excellent interpersonal skills and inspiring leadership
* experience of managing accounting procedures including budget and forecasting and development, HR, patients, risk management, strategic development etc
* experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams
* ability to react and resolve multiple and diverse issues
* experience of performance management, including appraisal writing, staff development and disciplinary/grievance procedures.
* experience of successfully developing and implementing projects
* experience of workforce planning, forecasting and development
* relevant facilities/health and safety experience
* NHS/Primary Care General Practice experience
* Experience of working in a health care setting
Qualifications
* good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills
* educated to degree level in healthcare or business
