The Role
This role supports the global product stewardship function for establishing the operating framework & ensuring governance and compliance with applicable chemical safety, chemical inventory, labelling, and food contact laws in the regions in which Tronox products are sold. Responsible for tracking legislative changes and providing technical knowledge to ensure global regulatory requirements are fulfilled and maintained to support new and existing technologies. Experience of working with industry groups/consortia on broader TiO2 scientific and regulatory issues with the ability to influence policy -makers and regulators would be highly advantageous.
This role could be based in either the UK or France
Main Responsibilities
1. Provides technical support to global product stewardship programmes
2. Leads REACH compliance and similar regulations in countries where Tronox products are sold
3. Co-ordinate, submission and maintenance of registration dossiers with relevant experts and consultants as required to ensure regulatory compliance.
4. Lead and co-ordinate interactions with external consultants and providers to ensure Only Representative (OR) compliance for Tronox products.
5. Maintain information on legal compliance and co-ordinate with Operations and Commercial functions to ensure required documentation is provided to customers
6. Responsible for reviewing the impact on finished goods compliance status when there are changes in the status of raw materials, coordinating discussions with relevant parties to collectively decide an appropriate path forward ( reformulation, communicate change to customers etc.)
7. Represents Tronox in Industry Consortia and Trade Associations with the ability to influence policy -makers and regulators.
8. Deal with non-routine complex customer enquiries, addressing legislative developments and support the Global Product Stewardship Director as required.
9. Support management of the Product Stewardship budget.
Education and Experience
To be considered for the role you will hold the following:
10. Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Chemistry, Biology or closely related scientific discipline
11. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Chemicals or Metals Industry
12. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Product Stewardship and/or Regulatory environment.
13. Excellent working knowledge of EU REACH and CLP requirements, in addition to understanding the principle requirements of new and emerging regulations including Turkey KKDIK, Korea REACH and UK REACH
14. In-depth working knowledge and experience of the provisions of Only Representative (OR) requirements under REACH and similar regulations to ensure compliance across all jurisdictions.
15. Proven track record of delivering technical and regulatory expertise, particularly on chemical product regulations in the EU and working knowledge of other jurisdictions.
16. Proven excellence in establishing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders including industry bodies, regulatory agencies and customers. Ideally you will be a member of advisory panels or scientific committees.
17. Ability to manage supplier contracts and costs
