Role Overview
In this exciting period of transformation, Orbit Group is recruiting a PMO Lead for a fixed term contract (FTC) until May 2028. The PMO Lead will run a Programme Management Office (PMO) to support our Everyday Excellence Programme, acting as the primary PMO partner within the Programme Delivery team and reporting to the central Transformation PMO. The role will establish governance, reporting and dependency management frameworks and drive accurate forecasting and tracking against the programme’s plan and outcomes. This hybrid role requires 2–3 days per month in Coventry.
Key Responsibilities
* Governance: Design and implement a timetable of governance boards, scrums and other programme delivery focused forums, ensuring appropriate stakeholders are identified.
* Reporting: Establish a suite of accurate progress reports and dashboards on delivery status, outcomes, financials and resourcing, collaborating with senior stakeholders to ensure reports are fit for purpose.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the PMO partner and trusted advisor, building strong relationships with Programme Leads, Delivery Managers, Product Owners, Finance, HR, Commercial, Governance, Audit and Risk teams.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to mature PMO practices, tools, templates and reporting; lead improvement initiatives within the programme and with stakeholder groups.
* Programme Team Development: Oversee development of project support resources, contribute to development plans and provide feedback and training to improve standards and consistency.
* Budget, Workforce & Supplier Management: Manage budget, workforce & resource planning and supplier contracts.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Experience leading a PMO/PMO manager in a transformation environment.
* Experience working with technology teams using Agile delivery methodology and associated tools (Jira, DevOps or similar); strong project reporting and resource capacity planning skills.
* Qualifications in P30, Agile, MSP or Prince2.
