Role
The Projects Director - FPS Newcastle leads a team of project management professionals through the project lifecycle for an assigned portfolio of projects covering multiple customers and regions. As a functional leader, you will manage a successful team to deliver a portfolio of projects on‑time and on budget, ensuring that Baker Hughes maximizes its short and long term revenue, profit and cash collection. The internal title for this role is Project Management Director – Project Leadership.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team of Project Management, Project Planning and Project Operations professionals.
* Responsible for managing & delivering a portfolio of global projects across multiple customers and regions.
* Allocate workload & manage team demand & capacity across direct & regional reports.
* Ensure functional alignment across the business to deliver contractual commitments and customer expectations.
* Prioritise deliverables of a complex global portfolio of projects.
* Serve as the interface between the region and the product company operations to ensure aligned priorities.
* Drive flawless execution of project deliverables across the business functions.
* Deliver projects on‑time and on‑budget.
* Develop an execution strategy to drive increased margin & profitability.
* Develop long‑term strategic execution plans.
* Engage with the commercial & sales team to support winning bids, develop a plan for successful delivery & minimise risks.
* Build positive long‑term relationships with regional customers to help capture market share.
* Promote a risk‑management mind‑set, identify and eliminate project risk.
* Understand customer contracts and execute within contract parameters while mitigating risk.
* Deliver key functional metrics including OTD, cash, margin expansion.
* Lead HSE & Quality commitments, engage and drive safety values.
* Contribute to the Newcastle site leadership team.
Qualifications
* Have a BSc in Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Management/Social Sciences, or relevant professional experience.
* Be able to demonstrate expertise and experience in project management principles (e.g. Prince, APM).
* Have a solid background in project management with a proven track record.
* Have excellent stakeholder relationship skills that inspire trust and confidence.
* Have effective leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, influence and resolve conflict.
* Strive for achieving project goals and customer satisfaction.
* Have a passion for the work, intellectual rigor and professional discipline while running the project.
* Have strong team leadership and team building skills.
* Have a permanent work permit in the UK.
Working Arrangements
