Job Title - Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Location - Haverhill, Suffolk
Hours - 40 hours per week (flexible rota including occasional evenings, weekends, and nights)
Salary - £53,000 per annum – OTE £60,800
About the Role
We are recruiting a Registered Manager to lead a brand-new 4-bed children’s home in Haverhill, supporting young people aged 11–17 with emotional and behavioural needs. This is a unique opportunity to shape a new service from the ground up within a well-established and Ofsted-regulated organisation.
You’ll be responsible for the overall management of the home, ensuring high standards of care, compliance, and outcomes for the children. This role requires confident leadership, strong safeguarding knowledge, and a commitment to trauma-informed and therapeutic practice.
Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality, child-focused residential care in line with regulatory standards
* Lead and manage the home’s day-to-day operations, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment
* Supervise, support and develop staff through effective leadership and training
* Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and quality assurance systems
* Promote positive multi-agency working and ensure each young person’s voice is central to their care
* Maintain compliance with Ofsted, safeguarding legislation, and care standards
Requirements
* Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a management role within children’s residential care
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (Children and Young People)
* Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
* In-depth knowledge of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations and Quality Standards
* Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
* Commitment to safeguarding and therapeutic care principles
