Lead C# Backend Developer
Location: Central London (Onsite) Salary: 75,000 - 85,000 Type: Permanent Sponsorship: Not available (must be UK-based)
Overview
We are working with an established software house based in Central London who are looking to hire a Lead C# Backend Developer to join their growing engineering team.
This is a fully onsite role, ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Role & Responsibilities
* Lead the design and development of scalable backend systems using C# and .NET Framework
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of developers
* Take ownership of backend architecture and ensure best practices are followed
* Work closely with cross-functional teams including front-end, QA, and product
* Contribute to system design, performance optimisation, and code quality
* Participate in code reviews and promote clean, maintainable coding standards
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
Key Requirements
* Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET Framework
* Deep understanding of backend development principles and architecture
* Strong experience working with SQL and relational databases
* Proven experience in a Lead or Senior Developer position
* Experience building scalable, high-performance applications
* Strong understanding of software design patterns and best practices
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Desirable Skills
* Experience with modern .NET (Core / .NET 6+)
* Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
* Experience working in an Agile environment
