Waking Night Support Worker – Grampound Road
Become a Waking Night Support Worker at Green Light PBS Ltd
As a Waking Night Support Worker at Green Light PBS, your primary goal is to ensure the people we support feel safe, comfortable, and secure throughout the night. Imagine the satisfaction of knowing that as you head home, the individuals you care for are waking up refreshed, ready to embrace a new day.
What You’ll Do
You’ll provide essential overnightsupport, acting as a calming and reassuring presence. While most nights involve creating a peaceful environment for sleep, some individuals may require specific assistance, such as:
* Responding to occasional sleep disturbances.
* Providing help or supervision for specific needs, such as supporting individuals with epilepsy (with specialised training and detailed care plans developed with specialists).
* Offering simple reassurance or meeting small requests, like a glass of milk, to help someone settle back to sleep.
Your contributions also extend to supporting your daytime colleagues. You’ll complete practical duties like maintaining a clean and homely environment, and carry out administrative tasks such as logging overnight activities. This valuable background support ensures our homes maintain high standards and helps inform and improve the overall care provided.
Your Support System
At Green Light PBS, we believe in supporting our team members every step of the way:
* Comprehensive Training: You’ll receive thorough organisational training, followed by home-specific induction led by your manager.
* Shadowing & Buddying: Gain confidence by working alongside experienced colleagues who will help you build rapport with the people in your assigned home.
* Ongoing Supervision: Your manager will provide regular supervision meetings to discuss your role, progress, and any additional support or training you might need.
* 24/7 On-Call Support: Our experienced management team is always available to offer advice, guidance, or practical help, day or night.
* Second Team Member: Another team member usually “sleeps in” at the home, offering additional help or guidance when needed.
The vital support you provide as a Waking Night Support Worker ensures that the people we support are at their best, ready to — as Leonardo says — enjoy another “well-spent day.”
