We are seeking a dedicated Autism Support Assistant to join a secondary resource provision near Featherstone, working full-time, long-term. In this role, you will support students with autism both in the resource provision on a 1:1 and small group basis, as well as assist with inclusion in mainstream lessons for key subjects. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with autism, ensuring they access the curriculum and engage in learning. Support students in mainstream lessons, assisting them with key subjects and helping with their integration into the broader school environment. Work closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure students’ needs are met and progress is tracked. Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. Key Requirements: Strong awareness and understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly autism. Passion for supporting students and a commitment to making a positive impact on their educational experience. Resilience and adaptability in managing the diverse challenges that may arise in the classroom. Solid understanding of the secondary school curriculum and the ability to support students in core subjects.
