The position will report to our newly appointed Warehouse & Purchasing Manager. As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing our warehouse functions within the company including goods in, goods out and internal storage, to meet cost, quality, time and efficiency targets. Key Responsibilities: To manage the warehouse activities for all incoming materials, off-loading and storing safely on-site. To manage despatch of finished products, ensuring that goods are despatched on time in full (OTIF) once produced, and delivery packing and documentation meet relevant shipping regulations. To keep abreast of relevant transportation regulations and implement any changes required. To plan and organise the work schedule for own area of responsibility, using ERP and other manual and electronic systems to manage workflow and records effectively. To manage storage and stock counts efficiently and effectively, minimising wastage and write-off. To manage external storage requirements, monitoring and minimising additional cost. To ensure machinery and equipment in own area is regularly maintained and fit for purpose. To lead the warehouse team, ensuring that staff have the information, induction and training required to carry out their responsibilities effectively and safely. To coach, mentor, appraise and performance manage the warehouse team members as required. To liaise with all departments across the company about warehouse issues. To use own knowledge, experience and observations to make recommendations to the management team. To support and uphold the values of continuous improvement methods and activities. Confidently deal with any problems that could cause delays, collaborating proactively with other departments to negotiate and resolve any problems. To have a good understanding of health & safety and environmental requirements, ensuring these are upheld in own team and bringing issues to the attention of the Operations Manager. Key Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Good general education to at least GCSE level including English and Maths Good understanding of stock management issues and best practice Knowledge of health & safety and environmental issues relevant to role Understanding of operational issues and business decision-making Experience of leading and managing a team IT skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) Experience using an ERP or computerised stock management system Thrives on challenge and able to work under pressure to achieve results Organised self-starter with good problem-solving skills Good verbal communication skills Good documentation and report writing skills Adaptable and flexible, a team player with a ‘can do’ attitude.
