Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Courier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the timely and safe delivery of packages, ensuring that all items reach their destinations in excellent condition. This role requires a strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to handle heavy lifting as necessary.
Duties
* Safely operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods to various locations.
* Ensure timely delivery of packages while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
* Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
* Load and unload packages, which may involve heavy lifting, ensuring that items are handled with care.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries made, including any discrepancies or issues encountered during transport.
* Conduct routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition and report any maintenance needs promptly.
* Collaborate with warehouse staff to organise packages for delivery efficiently.
Experience
* Previous experience as a delivery driver is essential, with a proven track record of reliability and punctuality.
* A valid driving licence is required; experience driving larger vehicles or lorries is advantageous.
* Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and practices is preferred.
* Experience in a warehouse environment will be beneficial for understanding package handling procedures.
* Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with clients and team members.
