Salary: £32,.77 - £42,.16 per annum

per annum (DOE)

Hours of Week: 40 Term Time Only

Contract Type: Permanent

Requirements:

1. Qualified Teacher Status
2. Full secondary registration with the GTCS, or ability to become registered.
3. Qualification to deliver maths, with potential to deliver another subject.
4. Sufficient experience to choose subject content which is appropriate to the needs of the pupils, combined with knowledge of current methodology and practices.
5. Successful implementation of National Curriculum Guidelines in Curriculum for Excellence (CfE).
6. Ability to communicate an enthusiasm for the subject. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with learners in the classroom. Ability to coordinate effectively with colleagues.
7. Willingness to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school to the benefit of learners.
8. Good awareness of and clear ability to safeguard children by developing appropriate relationships, personal boundaries and maintaining discipline.
9. Ability to work well unsupervised and use initiative effectively.

As a maths teacher you will:

10. Plan coherent and progressive teaching programmes that match learners’ needs and abilities.
11. Participate in the annual Professional Update and Professional Review and Development processes.
12. Engage in the process of curriculum development in collaboration with colleagues, both internal and external.
13. Participate in team teaching opportunities and Inter-disciplinary Learning throughout the school.
14. Maintain classroom discipline and always promote positive behaviour and social conduct.
15. Contribute to development planning, evaluation and quality improvement processes.
16. To develop and share creative approaches which integrate individual student performance with well-being and inclusive approaches with attainment.
17. To promote, develop and sustain strong partnerships beyond the classroom which include home, other agencies and community partnerships.

Mirren Park School form parts of the core community facilities and partnerships designed to promote the successful development of its pupils and enrich the lives of the local and wider community.

Located in Paisley, Mirren Park supports young people from ages 11 to 18 with a wide range of additional needs such as social, emotional and mental health conditions, autism and complex needs. We offer a full curriculum experience, but one that is organised and presented in a way that is more supportive, motivational, relevant, and capable of engaging both vulnerable and challenging pupils.
