Due to the growth of the business area, Leonardo have an opportunity for an Electronic Design Engineer to join our Communications and Force Protection Team.

What you will do
Supporting our Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) programmes, you will support new designs undertaking the following activities.
1. Electronic design analysis, circuit simulation and prototyping
2. Electronic schematic capture and PCB layout support
3. Power supply and interface card design and/or specifications
4. Testing and debugging of electronic circuits
5. Development of subsystem engineering solutions and specifications
6. Definition of electronic COTS products such as Open VPX cards and power supplies
7. Cabling and connector specifications
8. Integration and Verification of System and Sub-Systems
9. Support to Qualification (including EMC)
10. Production and Delivery support

In this broad electronic engineering role, you will work across a range of projects throughout various stages of the product lifecycle from initial concept development through to early life production support and on to support of existing fielded designs.
What we need from you
What you really must have:
11. Knowledge and experience of all stages of the engineering development lifecycle
Experience of:
12. Digital & Analogue Electronic design knowledge
13. Board level PCB design (ideally using Siemens EDA Xpedition Enterprise)
14. Operating at the product system level
15. Specifying and defining COTS items
16. Working with subcontract suppliers
17. Specifying cable and connector solutions
18. System level integration
19. Ability to make technical decisions within own sphere of responsibility
20. Willingness to work proactively within a fast moving and dynamic environment
It would be nice if you had:
21. Safety, Security and other legislative constraints knowledge
22. Domain experience in Electronics Warfare and Electronics Countermeasures
