Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Operative to join our growing, friendly team at Niftylift! The role is based at our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility in Stonebridge, Milton Keynes. This is a hands‑on role, including shot blasting, fully preparing metal components and operating/maintaining all non‑CNC machines.

Key Responsibilities
* Follow processes and detail any non‑conformances.
* Use gauges and measuring equipment for inspection purposes.
* Use jigs and assembly fixtures to manufacture high‑quality repetitive components.
* Maintain a clean environment within the department.
* Use correct consumables for preparation and sanding of metal and polymer components before paint/powder application.
* Booking on and off jobs, filling out timesheets and quality check sheets.
* Identifying material surface defects on parts prior to paint/powder application and repairing using adequate products.
* Masking, final paint/powder preparation, handling parts on and off paint runways.
* Moving chassis parts in and out of paint booths.
* Maintaining a high standard of 5S workplace organisation.
Personal Characteristics

* Good attention to detail.
* Must be prepared to work regular overtime.
Previous Experience
* Ability to read and execute SOPs to a high standard.
* An appreciation of the Health & Safety hazards within a paint shop, specifically isocyanates & flammable liquids.
* Experience operating within a lean manufacturing/continuous improvement team environment.
* Ability to read, write and communicate at all levels.
* Experience preparing unpainted parts (desirable).
* Welding knowledge (desirable).
* Experience using and maintaining air‑fed respiratory equipment (desirable).
* Shot blasting experience (desirable).
Working Hours
* Early Shift: 06:00 – 14:00 (Monday – Thursday), 06:00 – 11:30 (Friday).
* Late Shift: 14:00 – 22:00 (Monday – Thursday), 11:00 – 16:30 (Friday).
* Mandatory structured overtime depending on business requirements.
* Guaranteed hourly starting rate: £12.86 per hour (rising to a maximum of £13.67 per hour once signed off at specific skill levels).
* Shift premium: 15 % on all basic hours worked (37.5 per week).
* Additional weekly bonus: approximately £75 – £100 per week (for ref only), guaranteed at a minimum of £50 per week, payable when all qualifying criteria are met.
* Overtime: paid at a premium rate (x1.5 or x2.0 depending on hours worked).
* Annual bonus: £500 per annum (for ref only, based on recent average).
