Proposals Engineer – Water Infrastructure
Linear Recruitment is currently supporting a leading UK civil engineering contractor in the search for a Proposals Engineer to join their team delivering projects across the Southern Water framework. This role is based in Crawley with flexible and remote working available, alongside occasional travel to the office or project locations.
The successful candidate will join the estimating team and play a key role in preparing competitive tenders and proposals for water infrastructure projects, particularly across mechanical and electrical packages. This position will involve analysing tender documentation, coordinating supplier quotations, and supporting the development of accurate project cost estimates.
Key Responsibilities

Manage tender enquiries and review project documentation including specifications and drawings for mechanical and electrical works.

Review and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure they meet project requirements.

Support the preparation of project cost estimates and tender submissions.
*
Develop and maintain project risk registers and participate in risk review meetings.
*
Assist in tender adjudication processes and present findings to senior management.
*
Attend site visits and client meetings to support the development of effective project solutions.
Key Requirements
*
Previous experience within the water or utilities sector.
*
Understanding of infrastructure or construction project delivery.
*
Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills.
*
HNC, HND or Degree in a Construction, Engineering, or related discipline.
*
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
