As a Motor Vehicle Lecturer, you will design and deliver engaging and inspiring content to support students' development of technical skills and ensuring they continually build safe working practices. Please note that as part of the government-targeted retention payment scheme, you may be eligible for a payment of up to £6000, dependent on the subject/courses you teach.
Responsibilities include:
1. Teach courses specified by the Departmental Leadership Team.
2. Participate actively in curriculum development; and where appropriate in cross-college marketing activities.
3. Participate actively in the enrolment, induction, monitoring, profiling and initial assessment of students or trainees.
4. Devise individual learning plans and provide support for learners in line with the requirements of the course.
5. To be responsible to the Head of Department for student discipline, counselling and guidance for all assigned classes.
6. To be responsible for the supervision and management of students on placements and offsite visits and activities where appropriate.
7. Maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out to report accurately on the progress of both individuals and groups.
8. Pro-actively contribute to the success and vision of the department
9. Undertake programme leadership duties as specified by your line manager or the Head of Department
10. To contribute to course development and keep up to date with any industry or education reforms.
11. To contribute to the development of new programmes of study demonstrating an inclusive and collaborative approach to delivery
12. To act as academic and pastoral tutor to assigned students.
13. To implement and promote College regulations, policies and procedures.
14. To participate in relevant Course Committee activities and ensure that the student voice informs curriculum design.
15. To participate in recruitment and marketing activities as specified by your line manager or Head of Department
