Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 12pm-6pm
Salary: National Minimum Wage plus an uplift based on qualifications and experience at the end of a successful Probationary Period.
ABOUT THE JOB
* The role requires a minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare.
* High levels of patience, creativity, and a willingness to engage in playful activities with children aged 2‑11 are essential.
* Ability to sing, even out of tune, and to wear costumes or participate in role‑play is expected.
* Must be prepared to adapt to changes, such as extending planned activities to keep children engaged.
* Know many children’s names, as well as those of their parents and close family members, to build rapport.
* Have the ability to read a storybook aloud with frequent interruptions to maintain engagement.
* Show genuine interest in children’s diverse interests, from Disney princesses to historical theories.
* Be ready to foster a fun, loving, and supportive environment that encourages laughter and creativity.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
* Plan and lead activities for Preschool children aged 2‑4 and After School Club children aged 2‑11 during term time.
* Support key workers with their Key Children and assist with daily routines and interventions to promote learning and development.
* Work alongside other Early Years Practitioners and Playworkers during the holidays to run an engaging Holiday Club.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
* Hold a minimum Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Early Years Childcare.
* Have a strong working knowledge of EYFS and Birth to 5 Matters.
* Possess experience working in a childcare setting.
* Hold a valid Enhanced DBS check.
* Desirable: current Paediatric First Aid certificate, up‑to‑date Safeguarding Training, and Level 2 Food Hygiene (training can be provided).
* Willing to provide two satisfactory references, right‑to‑work verification, and be subject to Enhanced DBS checks.
