Temporary Finance Officer – Kilmarnock
Contract: 3–4 months (with potential extension)
Salary: Circa £30,000 (pro rata)
Hours: Flexible working available
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our team on a temporary basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a professional, efficient, and customer-focused finance service within a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the development of finance functions, including systems, procedures, and policies to ensure effective service delivery.
2. Process purchase ledger invoices and sales ledger invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
3. Maintain robust financial processes to support budget holders across the organisation.
4. Liaise with budget holders to understand needs and provide tailored financial support.
5. Ensure compliance with Financial Regulations and Operational Procedures.
6. Assist senior finance leaders with reports and strategic developments.
7. Ensure procurement activities deliver value for money.
8. Maintain and update financial systems and databases to ensure efficiency.
9. Provide cross-cover and collaborative support within the Finance Team across all sites.
10. Deliver excellent customer-focused assistance to staff, service users, and external contacts.
11. Uphold strong security arrangements, cash management procedures, and compliance with organisational policies.
About You:
12. Previous experience in purchase ledger is essential.
13. Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
14. Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
15. A background in finance or accounting with hands-on experience in ledger processing.
