About the company
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a Luxury Automotive OEM, based in Whitley, who are seeking a Design Engineer to join their team
Key Accountabilities:
1. Design proposals for EDU (electric drive unit) development
2. Package assessments on concept proposals
3. Concept development to ensure credibility of proposal.
4. Investigation of potential incremental improvements for consideration in future developments or upgrades.
5. On-cycle issue resolution
6. Supporting cross functional teams to generate potential design solutions to be considered by the D&R and integration squads.
7. Helping to Identify design optimisation opportunities for implementation at later design freezes.
8. Assembly management and drawing creation.
9. Management of 3D assemblies
10. Creation of detailed component and assembly drawings for manufacture
11. Standards, processes and tool development
12. Full utilisation of current JLR toolset.
13. Help to identify standards, processes and tools to develop.
14. Ensure alignment with JLR standards and best practises.
15. Highlighting potential weaknesses and opportunities
Experience Required:
16. Experience of 3D modelling tools and techniques, preferably in CATIA V6
17. Working knowledge of GD&T and general drafting
18. Knowledge in delivering innovative design solutions.
19. Experience in project management and issue resolution.
Experience Preferred:
20. Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred
21. Ability to manage multiple internal and external relationships in complex stakeholder environments.
22. Previous experience of the automotive or manufacturing industry
23. Experience of Agile project delivery
24. Detailed knowledge of EDU design
