The Group Head of Data Strategy and Value will work with the Group Chief Data Officer to set the group‑wide data strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment across key investments and business objectives and demonstrating value for money with clear ROI.
Responsibilities
* Work with the Group Chief Data Officer and local data leaders to define, implement and monitor the data strategy and roadmap across the group, keeping the business competitive in the use and application of data.
* Manage a centralised budget across the data portfolio and support prioritisation of initiatives based on financial value.
* Manage success measures and standardised value tracking across the group.
* Co‑ordinate cross‑group and entity data operating model changes to ensure consistency and alignment across key impacts and design decisions.
* Identify and scale successful data use cases across entities to prevent fragmentation and maximise return.
* Identify key market trends, solutions or data sources for implementation at group level to ensure best‑in‑class practices.
Deliverables
* Provide a clear and articulated data strategic roadmap that outlines goals across the organisation to drive value through data.
* Ensure data programmes and investments are explicitly linked to business outcomes, benefits and performance improvement, with prioritisation against initiatives.
* Support and work with the group and local data leads to oversee critical data organisational changes and programmes, ensuring consistency and high quality.
Line Management & Budget Responsibility
* This role will act as a senior sole contributor, aligning to local leaders to link strategy to execution at group and local levels.
Qualifications
* Significant senior‑level experience in data strategy, analytics, insight or a related field.
* Proven track record of translating data and analytics into measurable business value and outcomes.
* Strong strategic thinking with the ability to operate at both executive and delivery levels.
* Experience influencing and engaging senior stakeholders across complex organisations.
* Strong understanding of data governance, ethics and responsible data use.
* Excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills.
* Experience leading data or analytics functions and operating within large, complex and regulated organisations.
* Knowledge of modern data platforms, analytics and insight practices (without needing to be hands‑on).
* Experience establishing benefits realisation or value management frameworks.
Relationships
* Represent the organisation externally on data strategy, value and best practice where required.
* Build strong relationships with executive leaders, directors and senior stakeholders to shape priorities and influence outcomes.
