A Lead Design Engineer with experience of working on industrial and commercial security systems (CCTV, Alarms etc) is sought by a growing Engineering company
YOUR NEXT JOB
The role will involve developing accurate and commercially sound security system designs for industrial site including perimeter security, producing detailed client quotations and technical proposals in response to tender specifications and ad-hoc enquiries and conducting site surveys, interpret client drawings/specifications, and select appropriate systems and components. [Site surveys are largely desktop, occasionally on site / in person].
You will also liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain technical details and costings and create technical documentation for all project phases, including design packs, schedules, and O&M materials
You will also support the preparation of tenders and sales proposals, ensuring they are submitted on time and to high standards, contribute to bid/no bid decisions by assessing technical feasibility, commercial viability, and risk, prepare cost estimates with input from suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams, collaborate with Sales and Commercial colleagues to align bids with company margins and strategy and support contract reviews and risk assessments relating to bid opportunities
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
This role would suit an experienced Design Engineer with a background in the Electronic Security Industry with experience of system design, cost estimation, and a solid understanding of bid processes. You will be responsible for producing innovative designs and be heavily involves in tenders, quotations, and sales opportunities. There are good opportunities for future career progression into a more senior leadership roles.
A strong working knowledge of AutoCAD / AutoCAD LT and MS Projects, good organisation and communication skills are essential. You will also need experience of working on high-value infrastructure or utilities projects and a proactive approach to prioritising workloads
