The Opportunity
This opportunity has arisen due to continued project expansion on a major nuclear programme, creating the need for an experienced Technical Author to support the production and handover of critical lifecycle documentation. You will be joining a highly skilled, collaborative team operating at the forefront of safety?critical engineering, where your contribution will directly support safe operations and long?term asset integrity.
Our client is a well?established organisation within the nuclear sector, recognised for delivering complex, regulated projects to the highest safety and quality standards. They invest heavily in people, systems, and processes to ensure excellence across every stage of project delivery.
Your duties and responsibilities:
To produce a suite of compliant, professionally produced, System Overview Documents (Volume B) within defined time frames.
Interrogate engineering / design and vendor information to produce the System Overview Documents (Volume B).
Liaise with Engineering to collate Vendor Operation and Maintenance Manuals (Volume D).
Liaise with Commissioning Team Leaders and engineers to produce ‘Commissioning System Completion reports’ in line with project requirements for LTR pack completion, ready for handover to client.
Provide weekly progress updates to the Senior Technical Author.
Attend client progress meetings.
Report directly to the Senior Technical Author.
Ensure Safety is the highest priority on the project, with a continued strive towards Zero Harm.
Ensure quality standards, and consistency are applied throughout the range of documentation being produced.
Support the development of a collaborative project culture in line with Collaborative Working Plan.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
Nuclear background
Minimum HNC in an appropriate discipline
Previous Technical Author experience
IOSH Working/Managing Safely or equivalent
Relevant trade card or equivalent
Design Tools/Software:
Go Completions
Microsoft suite. Specifically: Word, Excel, Visio
The setting for the role
The role will be office based with site visits as required. A safety induction will be provided.
