Job Description
As the Category & Shopper Marketing Executive, you will be part of the Category Development and Shopper Marketing team within the wider Sales function. You will report to the Shopper Marketing Lead and work cross-functionally with other departments to deliver best-in-class shopper marketing executions and category analysis.
This role involves working with various data sources, providing category data analysis, reporting insights, and planogramming to support the Category Team in executing core range and distribution plans.
You will be responsible for executing shopper activity plans across smaller customers, bringing our brands and events to life for shoppers, and evaluating performance. Additionally, you will coordinate the management of cardboard display solutions with third-party display teams for channels.
This position requires close collaboration with demand functions to align internal ambitions with customer requirements in designing and executing activation and distribution plans.
Responsibilities
* Support development, alignment, delivery, and execution of activation plans.
* Represent customer needs internally and incorporate them into activation proposals.
* Manage activation budgets for responsible accounts, including budget allocation and stewardship.
* Support internal deployment meetings and oversee the design and delivery of all external toolkits and selling materials.
* Collaborate with agencies to develop and execute bespoke customer solutions aligned with retailer strategies.
* Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Category, Finance, Corporate Affairs, and Supply to create and implement initiatives.
* Execute activity plans with customers, engaging shoppers both in-store and online, and evaluate executions with learnings and recommendations.
* Manage third-party cardboard delivery to ensure timely deployment across channels.
Data & Reporting
* Deliver regular reporting and update critical scorecards within the Category & Shopper Team.
* Manage Perfect Store periodic reporting and reformulate scorecards as needed.
* Harmonize data and reporting with support from the Category Strategy lead.
* Provide ad-hoc analysis to stakeholders.
* Build store planograms and monitor share of space.
Support Strategy Development & Internal Planning
* Assist the Head of Category & Shopper in developing category fundamentals like Category Vision and Perfect Store.
* Create templates to support internal planning processes such as AOP and IVCP, enabling effective category input.
Support Online Execution
* Manage online content for NPD launches, working with Brandbank to upload images, titles, and descriptions.
* Coordinate with external agencies to design artwork for activation across e-commerce platforms like Ocado and Amazon.
* Ensure brand stores and A+ content on Amazon are updated and engaging with relevant campaign assets.
Qualifications
* Degree-level education or equivalent.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in FMCG marketing, shopper marketing, or customer activation roles.
* Knowledge of FMCG, UK market, and omnichannel retail.
* Experience working with top grocery retailers.
* Ability to analyze multiple data sources and drive actionable insights.
* Financial acumen, including P&L management and budget oversight.
* Strong influencing skills and ability to engage senior stakeholders.
* Experience working cross-functionally to achieve objectives.
* Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
* Willingness to travel across the UK for customer meetings.
* Project management skills across retail, out-of-home, and e-commerce channels.
* Fluent in English.
