Job overview

We have an exiting opportunity for an Anaesthetic / Recovery Practitioner to join our Operating Theatre department based at Leigh Infirmary, Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Teaching hospitals.

On the Leigh site we cover a wide variety of day case services including ophthalmology, dental, vascular, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, plastic surgery and pain with a mixture of types of anaesthetic.

NHS Employees should ideally secure their manager’s agreement for a secondment arrangement ideally prior to applying, as this will be a condition of any offer made. This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term basis as It has been established to support the an employee on secondment and will end in 12 months or when the substantive postholder returns. Whilst this post is advertised on an acting / secondment basis there is the potential that this post may become permanent in the future.

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Theatre Practitioners, experienced within the fields of Anaesthetics and recovery you should be a qualified ODP or a registered nurse with the anaesthetic qualification. Student ODPs and registered nurses with transferable skills / experience of working in the operating theatre environment are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

* RN 1st Level with university module care of the anaesthetised patient / Registered ODP
* ENB 998/CG7307/100/Mentorship in practice Degree /Diploma Studies
* Specialists Skills Course


Experience

* Demonstrate ability as professional role model.
* Experience of working on own and as a member of a team.
* Working knowledge of theatres


Skills

* Participation in research/audit
* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
