Full-Time Teaching Assistant - KS2 (Year 5 & 6)
Location: Junior School - Chesterfield
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: 29 hours and 35 minutes per week (8:30am - 3:15pm, Monday to Friday)
Contract Type: Permanent (initially payrolled via Tradewind, then direct school contract)
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children in Key Stage 2? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic TA to join our friendly and welcoming junior school in Chesterfield.
The Role:
This is a full-time position focused on working with pupils in Years 5 and 6. The successful candidate will support small-group and 1:1 interventions in key subject areas, particularly Maths and English, helping to raise attainment and ensure all pupils reach their full potential.
A key aspect of the role will also involve supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to provide tailored support, adapt learning materials, and help create an inclusive environment where all children can thrive both academically and emotionally.
Requirements:
Minimum TA qualification at Level 2 (or above)
Proven experience working in KS2, ideally with Years 5 and 6
Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum, particularly in Maths and English
Experience supporting pupils with SEND in the classroom
Ability to deliver focused interventions under teacher guidance
A caring, flexible and proactive approach to supporting children's learning and wellbeing
