ROLE – Requirements Engineer LOCATION – Calleva Park ​ DEPARTMENT –Engineering TYPE - Staff/Contract CLEARANCE – SC ​ ​ Working with NSG ​ NSG Environmental Ltd has been delivering work programmes in the nuclear industry for over 40 years. Traditionally in the areas of decommissioning and waste management, NSG now has a broad customer base and provides a wide spectrum of services across the nuclear project lifecycle, ranging from expert consultancy support, R&D and engineering design to rekit and refurbishment, site installation services and high-hazard physical decommissioning works, amongst others. This work is delivered at NSG’s own offices and purpose-built facilities and nuclear sites across the UK. If joining us as a member of staff, we will support your professional development in an exciting and challenging work environment that will enable you to use, develop and hone your technical expertise in a supportive and collaborative working environment. ​ ​ The Role ​ To provide Requirements Engineering expertise to One Team programmes; working closely with, and advising appropriately, the Project Manager or Engineering Task Manager, to ensure that Systems Engineering methods, tools and processes are used to best effect for requirements capture. ​ Key Objectives ​ Project Requirements ​ Planning and execution of tasks in order to deliver specific agreed objectives; demonstrating control of cost, quality and timeliness of engineering output. Lead and influence collaborative working and contribute towards the achievement of project goals. Provide mentorship and supervision of staff working in systems engineering. Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player ​ Technical Competency ​ DV cleared DOORS practitioner with 5 years commercial and 5 years government experience. Able to write Use cases. Elicit, analyse and translate stakeholder needs into technical requirements. Undertake requirements derivation, architecture development and system simulation. Undertake modelling and simulation to explore problem space and potential system solutions. Undertake requirements verification and validation and support technology teams’ derivation of verification and validation events, test cases, test plans and test specifications, to support integration activities. Manage and develop long term plans in support of life-cycle phases using Systems Engineering best practice (INCOSE). Support process capture, implementation and improvements for integrating the sub-systems. Support project reviews for internal programmes and external contracts, including providing written reports and verbal briefs to management and stakeholders. Maintain and promote awareness of Systems Engineering best practice and wider systems issues. ​ ​ Person Specification ​ Qualifications ​ Educated to degree level or equivalent in engineering supported by practical experience or equivalent Experience & Knowledge Experience of applied abstract modelling techniques in support of lifecycle processes (e.g. Use Cases, Context Diagrams, etc.) Experience of system design and specification including interface design and specification Basic understanding of the UK Nuclear Industry ​ Skills & Abilities ​ Competent user of MS Office Well organised with the ability to work to timescales and demonstrate attention to detail. Ability to grasp new and abstract concepts and ideas quickly Ability to prepare and present reports, documentation and information in support of project delivery Ability to interpret and evaluate technical data The ability to deliver technical & management presentations as a way of sharing ideas and influencing colleagues. Ability to communicate with a wide range of colleagues at all levels and with external stakeholders and contractors Knowledge of ISO 9001 / 14001 & 45001 ​ ​ Package - Staff only Hours - 37.5 hours per week Overtime – 37.5-60hours per week – Time and half Overtime – 60 hours per week or Sundays – Double time Life Assurance 3x Salary Private Healthcare package Pension – Company contributes 5% Individual contributes 4% Discretionary bonus 187.5 hours per year holiday allowance Professional memberships covered Large Training and Development budge available. ​ ​ NSG Environmental are a Disability Confident Committed Employer
