Overview
Suffolk Archives, a Suffolk County Council Service, is recruiting a 12‑week Exhibition Assistant (Beyond Labels Exhibition Assistant) for a fixed‑term role (funding) at 37 hours per week. The position is located on‑site at The Hold, Ipswich IP4 1LR and is open to applicants aged 18‑24. Salary is £24,413 pro rata and the contract runs for 12 weeks.
* Hours: 37 hours per week – occasional evening and weekend working possible.
* Contract: Fixed term for 12 weeks (funding).
* Age: 18‑24 only.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work closely with the Beyond Labels Project Officer and the Exhibition and Interpretation Officer to develop, install and promote the Beyond Labels exhibition at The Hold in February 2026. They will also:
* Plan and deliver community‑led events.
* Create and manage social‑media content.
* Conduct research in line with the activity plan.
* Support the Audience Development Team and wider archival staff.
* Build relationships with stakeholders, volunteers and staff.
