Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our caring team At our care home in Sandown. This role is vital in supporting our mission to deliver high-quality, personalised care through excellent meal and food service. The Kitchen Assistant will contribute to maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment while assisting with meal preparation.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to residents in accordance with dietary requirements.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area.
* Support the kitchen team with food safety procedures.
* Ensure all food is stored correctly and safely.
* Help with basic food preparation tasks as directed.
* Support the team during meal times to ensure smooth service.
* Follow health and safety regulations at all times.
* Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in catering, cooking, or kitchen environments is preferred.
* Knowledge of modified diets and IDDSI .
* Knowledge of food safety standards.
* Ability to work efficiently in a team.
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to follow instructions carefully.
* A friendly and caring attitude towards residents and colleagues.
* Flexibility to support various tasks as needed.
* Basic food preparation skills.
