Vehicle Technician / Automotive Mechanic – Romford
Are you a skilled Vehicle Technician / Automotive Mechanic looking for your next step? Our client — a busy, successful main dealer in Romford — is growing and they’re on the lookout for a confident, experienced Technician to join their aftersales team. Whether you’ve been working as a Mechanic, Service Technician, Diagnostic Technician or within a prestige workshop environment, this role offers genuine progression with routes into Workshop Controller, Assistant Manager and Garage Manager positions.
Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 DOE plus bonus
Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm
Saturday (1 in 4) 8am – 3pm

What you’ll be doing (and doing brilliantly)
* Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs to the highest manufacturer standards
* Working efficiently to manufacturer-set timings to maintain productivity
* Completing accurate diagnostic reports and documenting work carried out
* Keeping your work area clean, safe and organised
* Communicating clearly and professionally with colleagues and customers
* Ensuring customer satisfaction stays front and centre
* Supporting and mentoring other Technicians as required
* Developing towards Assistant Manager responsibilities
What we’re looking for
* NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
* Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience in a prestige dealership or similar environment
* Strong technical skills and problem-solving ability
* Excellent customer service standards
* Able to work independently and take ownership of your output
* Full UK Driving Licence
* High Voltage (EV/Hybrid) trained preferred
* Motivated, target-driven, and adaptable within a busy workshop
