The IT Security Manager is a hands-on management position with excellent knowledge of the technologies in use by the IT Security team required to coach, mentor, and train other team members as well as to define process, policy, and working practices. Ensuring that company standards both locally and globally are implemented and compliant with legislative and industry standards. Ensuring that all infosec incidents are managed and recorded in line with company standards to ensure compliance with legislation. The candidate will also mentor the Information Security team and be a member of the IT Management team.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the IT Security team.
* Ensure deadlines are managed and met for all IT Security projects.
* Provide IT Security input into IT strategy and projects.
* Manage IT security incident response, investigation, reporting, and forensics.
* Assess system security and recommend improvements.
* Ensure data handling complies with legal and company guidelines.
* Control costs and budgets related to IT security.
* Manage vendor contracts and software licenses.
* Develop IT security policies with the Group head of Business Systems.
* Ensure training and development plans for the IT Security team.
* Evaluate team performance and report monthly.
* Manage team resourcing and development.
* Stay updated with security practices and policies.
* Implement and monitor security systems.
* Investigate security breaches and assess damage.
* Report risks and mitigation actions.
* Fix vulnerabilities to maintain high security standards.
* Research and recommend security enhancements.
* Perform penetration testing.
* Support secure application delivery.
* Participate in security audits.
Candidate Criteria
* Extensive experience in IT Security within a global environment.
* Experience with system installation, configuration, and analysis.
* Knowledge of networks and cloud computing.
* Understanding of data protection laws like GDPR.
* Ability to identify knowledge gaps and address them.
* Knowledge of project management frameworks.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Problem-solving skills.
* Experience in coaching and mentoring security teams.
* Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
