Prodrive Recruitment Ltd are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Manager to oversee manufacturing operations within our client’s busy manufacturing locations in Malvern. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. The Production Manager will enjoy a varied role providing leadership, drive productivity improvement utilising Lean and continuous improvement principles whilst also ensuring health & safety for production.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide leadership to a team of supervisors/team leaders, including training.
* Mentor supervisors & team leaders to ensure effective team leadership.
* Nurture a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
* Work with Procurement Team to ensure availability of raw materials.
* Rectify and report any non-conformances.
* Halt Production and alert Senior Manager if any safety alert arises.
* Coordinate, motivate, manage direct reports and shop floor employees
* Plan daily production and labour/resources to achieve scheduled production ensuring customer requirements are met.
* Oversee onboarding, timesheets, holidays, sickness and absence processes.
* Attend Quality Management Meetings, HACCP meetings and report on Production related matters.
* Implement strategies to optimise cost management and resource allocation
* Ensure production records are accurate to allow traceability.
* Be involved with product development as to its effects and impacts on production issues.
* Ensure compliance with environmental schemes (especially packaging).
Person Specification:
* Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in a managerial role.
* Qualifications: To degree level, ideally in an engineering or science discipline.
* Manufacturing: Proven experience in a food sector or similar manufacturing environment.
* Good levels of literacy and numeracy.
* Experience of utilising Lean and Continuous improvement principles.
* Analytical with problem solving skills.
* A good understanding of ERP/MRP systems to ensure Bills of Materials are accurate.
* Management of department budgets for materials, labour, repairs and maintenance.
* A good understanding of Quality management and working to ISO9001, FAMI-QS and FSSC 22000 plus Organic, Kosher and Halal awareness.
* IOSH Health & Safety trained.
* Level 3 Food Safety Supervision for Manufacturing certified.
* Level 3 HACCP qualified.
* Experienced with Health & Safety work requirements in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience working within batch manufacturing environments.
* Forklift truck & IPAF certified.
* Environmental awareness.
