Overview A well-established and highly regarded law firm based to the West of London is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager who is a Qualified Solicitor to join its senior management function.
This is a key role within the firm, responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance, risk management, and governance, ensuring the firm operates in line with SRA requirements and best practice at all times.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee and manage the firm’s compliance framework in line with SRA Standards and Regulations
2. Act as, or support, the COLP and/or COFA (where applicable)
3. Monitor regulatory developments and ensure timely implementation of changes
4. Advise partners and senior management on regulatory, risk, and compliance matters
5. Maintain and update firm-wide policies and procedures, including AML, data protection, complaints handling, and conflicts
6. Conduct internal audits and compliance reviews, reporting findings and recommendations
7. Manage and respond to SRA queries, inspections, and regulatory correspondence
8. Oversee AML compliance, including risk assessments, training, and reporting
9. Deliver compliance training to fee-earners and staff across the firm
10. Work closely with partners, HR, and finance to embed a strong compliance culture
Person Specification
11. Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
12. Proven experience in a Compliance, Risk, or Regulatory role within a law firm
13. Strong working knowledge of SRA regulations, AML legislation, and legal risk management
14. Experience dealing with the SRA and regulatory audits
15. Confident advising at partner and senior management level
16. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
17. Commercially aware, pragmatic, and solutions-focused
18. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable
19. Previous experience acting as COLP and/or COFA
20. Experience within a multi-disciplinary or growing law firm
21. Background in policy drafting and compliance training delivery
