We are seeking a committed Consultant Community Paediatrician to help shape and strengthen our thriving service.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist assessment and management for children with neurodevelopmental conditions (including ADHD and autism), long term disabilities, complex health needs, and safeguarding concerns.
* Work closely with our experienced multidisciplinary teams—therapists, nurses, psychologists, and education partners—who are passionate about collaboration and child centred care.
* Influence service development, contribute to quality improvement, and support the training and supervision of junior colleagues within a friendly and forward thinking environment.
* Assess and manage complex physical disability; maintain working knowledge of tonal management and complex care management.
* Support children in care work in the region.
* Contribute to regional Safeguarding rota providing medical assessment for children with non-acute safeguarding concerns.
* Support referral meetings—consultant led.
* Support teaching and training of medical students, Community and Neurodisability trainees, educational and clinical supervision.
* Contribute to ongoing service development, evaluation and improvement as part of your role.
* Develop interests in safeguarding, complex care management, mental health, fostering and adoption and LAC where relevant; provide expert advice to other agencies as needed.
* Collaborate with acute sector colleagues, CAMH, Education and Social care.
* Participate in relevant emergency preparedness processes for the team.
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration with licence to practise
* Inclusion on the specialist register (Paediatrics) or within 6 months of CCT
* Strong clinical experience in community paediatrics
* Expertise in neurodevelopmental assessment and safeguarding
* Effective communication and multidisciplinary teamworking skills
* Commitment to high quality, equitable care for children and families
