What you will do:
* Manage a caseload of Children in Care, including complex and challenging cases.
* Develop and regularly review care plans and permanence plans to ensure stability and long-term wellbeing for children and young people.
* Ensure children’s voices, wishes, and feelings are central to planning and decision-making.
* Promote placement stability, working closely with foster carers, residential services, and partner agencies.
* Prepare high-quality reports for statutory reviews, court proceedings, and planning meetings.
Person specification:
Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
Registration and compliance:
* Registration with Social Work England.
* Enhanced DBS clearance.
* Must have the Right to Work in the UK.
Key skills:
* Strong knowledge of Children in Care legislation and care planning frameworks.
* Excellent safeguarding, assessment, and decision-making abilities.
* Ability to manage complex cases and provide practice leadership.
* Outstanding communication, analytical, and report-writing skills.
* Ability to build effective relationships with children, carers, and partner agencies.
* Strong organisational and case management capabilities.
Experience:
* Significant post-qualification experience in Children’s Social Care.
* Experience working with Children in Care / Looked After Children (LAC).
* Experience in court work and permanence planning.
* Background in supporting or mentoring junior staff.
