As Executive Director of Quality and People you will be akey member of ECCH's Leadership Team and will report directly to the CEO andour Board. Your responsibilities will encompass ensuring the highest standardsof clinical quality, safety and assurance, whilst overseeing the strategicdirection of Human Resources initiatives.Our size and status as a Community Interest Company (CIC) enables us to beforward-thinking and flexible, and you will have a high degree of delegatedauthority to think and do differently, providing an exciting platform for aleader with the right skillset and strategic thinking.

Main duties of the job
As Executive Director of Quality and People, you will beaccountable for the safe delivery of all aspects of clinical effectiveness,patient safety and patient experience including:
Undertaking the role of clinical director forthe organisation and ensuring clinical and professional leadership is in place
Ensuring all aspects of clinical quality, safetyand assurance are monitored effectively across the organisation
Providing expert advice to the Board and theLeadership Team on all aspects of professional and clinical leadership andregulation for all nurses, allied health professionals and skillednon-registered workforce within ECCH
Line management of team leads in the Quality andPeople Directorate, including Human Resources, Medicines Management, InfectionPrevention and Control, Health, Safety and Risk, Patient Safety and Experience,and Information Governance and Audit.
In this role you will be a company director, jointly responsiblefor setting and delivering the strategy for the organisation.

Strategic
Contribute to developing the strategic direction of ECCH.
Championing the Staff Survey, and other staff opinion reviews, anddeveloping mechanisms for staff/shareholders to be involved in decisionmaking. Empowered to make changes in thebest interests of service users.
Oversee the provision of a comprehensive and high-quality OccupationalHealth Service, ensuring its perceived and demonstrable value to both staff andmanagement.
Work with Leadership Team colleagues to develop and maintain effectiveworking arrangements with neighbouring organisations in the local healthcommunity, including commissioners and providers of health care services.
Responsible for ensuring robust systems and process are in placewithin their respective areas and across the ECCH to ensure that integratedgovernance processes are effectively implemented.
Ensure the Leadership Team and Board of Directors are kept informed ofstrategies, actions taken and any significant issues or risks in a timelymanner.

Work with professional leads to identify and implement opportunitiesto improve patient care through workforce modernisation, introducing newclinical roles or implementing new responsibilities into existing roles.
Be a visible role model to develop and empower leaders within clinicalservices.
Lead and facilitate the development of research and its application topractice across all professions.
Responsibility for ensuring the nursing workforce has the necessarycompetence and registration.
Ensure the maintenance of professional standards of care within theCodes of Professional Practice.
Advise the Board of Directors, Leadership Team, and managers onprofessional clinical issues, including the changing opportunities forprofessional roles and responsibilities.
Quality & Assurance
Lead the organisations quality and clinical governance arrangementsand strengthen safety and risk management practices across ECCH.
Ensure a safe infrastructure and environment for patients, visitors,students and staff by ensuring that effective Risk Management strategy, systemsand processes operate across ECCH.
Ensure that procedures are in place for all professional groups toidentify and remedy areas of performance that require development.
Manage clinical safety monitoring and clinical audit andeffectiveness.
Evaluating workforce effectiveness, carrying out audits asappropriate.
Provide leadership for the organisations delivery of qualityimprovement and ensure quality improvement supports the organisations visionand delivery of objectives.
Oversee the implementation and adherence to health and safetypolicies, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and coordinating theorganisation's response to safety notices and bulletins.
Lead the development of a Quality Account for the organisation.
Develop and promote an open and fair culture to ensure that incidentreporting is encouraged and lessons are learnt, focusing on corrective actionand closing the loop.
Responsible for ensuring ECCH registration requirements with the CQCare fulfilled and maintained, ensuring close collaboration with BusinessUnits/Directorates and that monitoring arrangements are in place.
Ensure ECCH operates robust arrangements to monitor the implementationof national standards, such as NHS Resolution standards and NICE guidance.
Be responsible for the Infection Control Team within the organisationand oversee the implementation of local infection control policies.
Work with the Head of HR on the development of workforce strategies thatenhances job satisfaction and career development for all clinical staff.

Responsible for workforce strategy, leadership, and development acrossthe whole organisation.
Ensure that ECCH meets its responsibilities to provide clinicalexperience and mentor support for pre- and post-registration nurses and alliedhealth professionals education in line with local and national requirements.
In liaison with other non-medical professional leads and the trainingdepartment determine the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) needs of thenon-medical clinical workforce through effective appraisal systems.
Commission pre- and post-registration education for all non-medicalHealthcare professions.
Maintaining up to date analysis of national workforce developments andcontributing to future regional national workforce developments.
Collaborate with the Head of HR to provide management and supervisionfor the training department, overseeing internal mandatory training, clinicaltraining, and CPD processes.
Ensure that effective collaboration and negotiations support theorganisations clinical strategy with both commissioners and providers ofeducation.
Drive strategic performance appraisal processes in collaboration withHR to foster continuous improvement and accountability.
Safeguarding
Establish a culture of listening to and engaging in dialogue withvulnerable adults, carers, children, and families including seeking views inways appropriate to their age and understanding - and taking these views intoaccount in individual cases and the establishment and development of services.
Ensure all members of staff clearly understand the organisationsresponsibilities for safeguarding and are appropriately trained.
Maintain and develop good inter-agency and multi-disciplinary working,including arrangements for sharing information.
