Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Safety Valve Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the inspection, maintenance, testing, and repair of safety valves and pressure relief devices in compliance with industry standards. Your expertise in valve technology and mechanical systems will be essential in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of various processes within our clients' facilities. You will work closely with operations, engineering, plant operators, and maintenance personnel to optimise valve performance and minimize customer downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
•\tInspect, dismantle, clean, and reassemble safety valves to manufacturer and industry standards.
•\tConduct testing and calibration of pressure relief valves (PRVs) both in-house and on-site.
•\tMaintain accurate records of valve servicing, repairs, and certifications.
•\tTroubleshoot valve performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
•\tEnsure all work complies with safety regulations and internal quality standards.
•\tSupport field service teams during turnarounds, shutdowns, and routine maintenance.
•\tOperate test benches and associated calibration equipment.
•\tMaintain tools and equipment in safe, working condition.
•\tCollaborate with operations, engineering and maintenance teams to develop preventive maintenance schedules and strategies for valve systems.
•\tFollow the QMS process and document electronically the valve condition and report the condition and repair plan to IVS operations and the customer.
•\tConduct valve testing and performance evaluations to assess reliability, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
•\tDocument all maintenance activities via the IVS Valve Management System, inspections, repairs, and test results accurately.
•\tAdhere to health, safety and environmental standards at all times to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental hazards.
•\tStay updated on advancements in valve technology, industry trends, and best practices through training, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
•\tProvide technical guidance and support to less experienced technicians and apprentices as needed.
Qualifications:
•\tQualified Mechanical apprenticeship to NVQ level 3 or equivalent; vocational training or certification in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field .
•\tHNC in mechanical engineering or equivalent .
•\tProven experience working with safety valves, PRVs, or similar mechanical systems.
•\tFamiliarity with industry standards such as ASME, API, and ISO.
•\tStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
•\tComfortable working in industrial environments (on-site and in-shop).
•\tCertifications in valve servicing or pressure safety equipment ().
•\tProficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to interpret valve specifications and installation requirements.
•\tFamiliarity with valve testing equipment, diagnostic tools, and precision instruments used for troubleshooting and calibration.
•\tExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to identify root causes of valve failures and implement effective solutions.
•\tEffective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients, colleagues, and suppliers professionally.
•\tAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
•\tFlexibility to work overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts to respond to emergency repair situations or maintenance requirements.
•\tA team player who supports team members and helps drive a healthy work environment.
•\tValid driver's license and clean driving record may be required for field service technicians.
•\tForklift license but not essential.

•\tHours of work: 40 hours per week from 7.00am to 4.00pm on Monday to Thursday and from 7.00am until 1.00pm on a Friday.
•\tHoliday: 6.6 weeks (33 days) per annum which includes statutory Bank/Public Holidays.
•\tHoliday Year: 1st January to 31st December.
•\tProbation Period: 3 months.
•\tNotice: During probation 1 week, thereafter 1 month.
•\tPension: Autoenrollment after 3 months service. Employer contributions 3%.
