Opportunity
This pivotal role bridges engineering expertise with commercial growth, managing key accounts, developing new business and ensuring technical solutions meet exact customer requirements across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers and key accounts.
* Identify and secure new business opportunities within the switchgear and electrical manufacturing sectors.
* Provide technical sales support and guidance on enclosure design, materials and certification (BS EN 61439).
* Prepare and deliver accurate quotations, tenders and project proposals.
* Liaise closely with CAD, engineering and production teams to ensure projects meet technical and commercial expectations.
* Attend customer visits, site meetings and industry events to promote the A & T brand.
* Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer feedback to inform business strategy.
* Report directly to senior management on sales performance, forecasts and pipeline development.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience in technical sales or business development within electrical engineering, metal fabrication or switchgear manufacturing.
* Strong understanding of sheet metal enclosures, LV switchgear systems and BS EN 61439 compliance.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
* High level of organisation, attention to detail and self-motivation.
* Competence in Microsoft Office, CRM software, AutoCAD Inventor & RADAN.
* Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) or equivalent experience.
* Familiarity with CAD systems and manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, press brake operation and powder coating.
* Full UK driving licence.
