Job Overview

The Expert Witness Service provides a range of assessments and written reports addressing issues of mental health and mental capacity within a wide range of court proceedings to our client base. This includes law firms, professional bodies, large organisations and local authorities. The reports cover psychiatry, psychology, social work, nursing and other allied health, medical and surgical disciplines. Assessments are undertaken of both children and adults subject to legal proceedings; this can cover Special Educational Needs tribunals, Criminal Court matters, Asylum Seekers and Immigration, Employment Law, Mental Health Tribunals, Social Housing issues and a person’s capacity to make decisions within the Court of Protection.

The role involves the coordination of activities between clients and mental health professionals to facilitate the accurate and on-time delivery of final written evidence. The activities range from taking the initial client enquiry, provision of quotation for the enquiry, arranging the assessment between the mental health professional and the patient through to the final delivery and invoicing of the report to the client.
