Office Manager
Hours: 37.5 hours p/w including evening cover when required.
Salary: £31,049 (Band 5 Agenda for Change comparable).
Contract type: Permanent subject to a successful probationary period.

Sunderland Counselling Service (SCS) is seeking to recruit a full-time Office Manager to work within a well-established and supportive senior management and administrative team of an independent mental health charity and company limited by guarantee. SCS provides a range of services across the North East region offering psychological therapies including counselling and cognitive behavioural therapies to children and adults, as well as access to wrap around support to help support people with mental health difficulties.
The Office Manager will be based in our main office in Sunderland City Centre and lead a team of paid and volunteer administration workers and a cleaning team. The post holder will be expected to manage a small but busy office, with responsibility for the smooth running of all aspects of the office and service administration. Working as a member of a larger team within Sunderland Counselling Service, the post holder will contribute to the sustainability and development of the service as a whole.
We are looking for somebody who has experience of leading and motivating teams of people, including providing effective line management and leading and delivering HR support to staff members, who has experience of creating, developing and maintaining effective and appropriate office systems, and with knowledge of delivering effective administrative support within a service.
