As the Plumbing Workshop Manager at Yeovil College, you’ll be a driving force in delivering practical, industry-focused learning experiences that empower students to build essential skills for the plumbing sector. Based in our cutting-edge Construction Centre, you’ll manage engaging workshops, demonstrate technical expertise, and assess student progress, all while ensuring a safe, well-equipped environment. You’ll oversee health and safety, organise resources and stock, and coordinate up to 1080 hours of teaching each year, ensuring sessions run smoothly and effectively. Keeping up to date with the latest tools and training, you’ll support staff confidence and capability, while working closely with the study programme manager to ensure schemes of work are followed. What we're looking for:
1. Previous plumbing trade experience.
2. Relevant Level 2 trade qualification.
3. An assessors or teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards.
4. An interest in supporting young people to learn and develop new skills.
5. The ability to work successfully within a team.
6. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
