1. Teaching and Curriculum Delivery

Plan and deliver lessons aligned with the national curriculum or school syllabus for secondary school students (usually ages 11–18).

Teach core English skills: reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking.

Literature and language instruction: Introduce students to prose, poetry, drama, and non-fiction texts.

Differentiated instruction: Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of students with varying abilities, including those with learning difficulties or exceptional talents.

Use of technology: Incorporate digital tools to enhance learning, such as multimedia presentations, online resources, and language apps.

2. Assessment and Feedback

Set, mark, and grade assignments and exams according to school and national standards.

Provide constructive feedback to support student development.

Track student progress using records and reports.

Prepare students for external examinations such as GCSEs, A-levels, or equivalent qualifications.

3. Pastoral and Supportive Role
