The Revenues team operates within the Revenues and Benefits Service, in the Resources Directorate. The team manages accounts held for all households and businesses in the council and is responsible for the billing and collection of Council Tax, National Non-Domestic Rates (Business Rates) and the Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) levy. The team deal with correspondence and enquiries from customers, in writing, by telephone or via digital forms, and update accounts accordingly as customers’ circumstances change, in collaboration with Customer Services and other council departments. A Revenues Case Manager participates in the processing of billing and collection of charges, handles customer enquiries efficiently and accountably, and maintains case ownership while adhering to relevant legislation in taxation and non-domestic rates, council policy, and financial regulations; supported by a team of Revenues Specialists. A buddy scheme is in place for new starters and support and guidance will be provided to achieve a more detailed understanding of relevant legislation, service processes and compliance, with focus on delivering high quality and continuously improving services.

Who we are looking for…
We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals to join our team as apprentices. The ideal candidate will have a good standard of English, Maths, and ICT, and a strong willingness to learn and grow. This should Include a Minimum of 3 x A Levels (or equivalent Level 3 qualifications) and 5 x GCSE at Grade C / 4 or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English Language. You should be a team player with excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills, as well as a keen eye for detail and a positive, flexible attitude. If you’re eager to develop new skills and take responsibility while working in a supportive environment, we would love to hear from you!
