Electrical Engineer - Deeside / Chester Area - Days - Automation/Controls/PLCs
£50-56k + Quarterly Bonus Scheme + 10% Employer Pension Contribution + Private Medical = £57-68k package + salary review in 2026. Samuel Frank is recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to join a globally recognised manufacturing company with a large base in the Deeside / Chester area.
Responsibilities
* Knowledge of PLCs, controls & automation. While the Electrical Engineer won\'t be programming PLCs, knowledge of them and how they work/are coded is a key element of the role.
* Lead a small team including an Electrical Supervisor and two Electrical Technicians.
* The role will be primarily office based (75%) as well as working on the shopfloor (25%).
Qualifications
* Minimum qualification of HNC, ideally time served and must have “hands on” experience/background.
* Knowledge of variable speed drives.
* Hydraulics and pneumatics experience - desirable, not essential.
* An Electrical Engineer looking to further themselves and aiming to gain Chartered status will be considered favourably (and will be supported by the business).
Additional Details
* You will receive regular, specialist training on current and emerging technologies, an annual salary review, 10% employer pension contribution and a range of staff discounts with some major UK brands.
* As part of the salary, there’s a monthly payment for approx 170 hours annualised hours (x1.25 overtime rate), covering around 3-4 hours of overtime per week.
* Hours are 8-4pm Monday-Thursday and 8-3pm on Fridays.
* Bonus isn\'t guaranteed, but has been paid roughly 5% of base salary over recent quarters.
* 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays.
* Location: North West - easily commutable from Deeside, Chester, Wrexham, Ellesmere Port, Broughton, Liverpool, Northwich, Runcorn, Widnes and Warrington.
