Your new role
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced transport planner to contribute to the planning and delivery of sustainable, well-connected developments. Working across a range of projects, you will help shape transport strategies, review development proposals and ensure that transport considerations support wider planning, environmental and community objectives.
In short you will

Provide advice to and work with the public, developers, agents, council departments and other relevant bodies regarding development proposals and related matters in writing, by telephone or in person.

Process and formulate recommendations on applications, including the preparation of responses and reports for senior officers and elected members.
*
Prepare and present appropriate evidence in response to related appeals and other challenges against planning authority decisions.
*
Attend meetings with external organisations, planning committees and working groups as required.
*
Review and comment on highway designs, kerbside provision, access proposals, parking, cycle facilities, pedestrian amenity and wider public realm considerations.
About you
This role is ideal for a personable, flexible and responsive individual with a passion for collaborative working. Ideally you will meet most of the following criteria:

Degree qualification in a relevant field
*
Experience working with NEC contracts
*
Significant experience in transport planning and strategy development
*
Confidence operating at a Senior or Principal level
*
Excellent report writing and communication skills
*
Ability to produce and oversee transport technical documents
