Responsibilities
* Plan and implement individual and/or group interventions in collaboration with the service user to achieve therapeutic goals.
* Undertake physiotherapy assessments for a designated caseload, addressing all areas of complex physical health as appropriate.
* Work with service users to identify physiotherapy goals as part of the overall care plan.
* Use appropriate outcome measures to evaluate physical outcomes for the service user and the physiotherapy service.
* Assess service users’ understanding of interventions, gain valid consent and work within a legal framework with service users who lack capacity to consent to treatment.
* Maintain accurate and timely record keeping in line with legal, professional and Trust requirements.
* Carry out assessments and manual treatments of service users with moderate physical effort, complying with the Trust’s Manual Handling Policy at all times.
* Manage a caseload using evidence‑based client principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in a variety of community‑based settings.
* Maintain clinical records.
Qualifications
* Degree in Physiotherapy.
* State registration with HCPC.
Desirable Criteria
* Membership of Professional Body (CSP).
* Experience working with people with mental health problems or learning disability.
* Completed a range of student placements providing experience of community‑based working.
* Experience and understanding of MDT/team working.
* Experience with professional assessment tools.
* Documented evidence of continuing professional development.
* Previous placement in learning disabilities.
* Knowledge of current best practice in physiotherapy.
* Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice.
* Basic knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and communication difficulties.
* Appropriate UK professional registration.
